　　The RoseThere was once a poor woman who had two children.The younger one had to go every day into the forest to fetch wood.Once when she had gone a long way to seek it,a little child,who was quite strong,came to help her and take her home then before a moment,the strange child disappeared.The child told her mother this,but at first she would not believe it.At length she brought a rose home,and told her mother that the beautiful child had given her this rose,and had told her that when it was in full bloom,he would return.The mother put the rose in water.One morning her child couldn't get out of bed.The mother went to the bed and found her dead,but she lay looking very happy.On the same morning,the rose was in full bloom.

　　參考譯文：玫瑰從前有個(gè)貧窮的婦女，她有兩個(gè)孩子。小的天天要進(jìn)森林里采樵。有一回她走了好長(zhǎng)一段路尋找柴火，一個(gè)十分結(jié)實(shí)的小男孩過(guò)來(lái)相助，幫她拾撿柴火，還把她背回家，然后轉(zhuǎn)眼功夫這陌生的男孩突然消失了。小女孩把這一切告訴了媽媽，可是媽媽還不相信。她還帶了一朵玫瑰回家，告訴媽媽說(shuō)這朵美麗的玫瑰是那美少年送給她的，還對(duì)她說(shuō)，等到花兒盛開(kāi)的時(shí)分，他就會(huì)回來(lái)。媽媽便把玫瑰養(yǎng)在水里。一天早上她的小女兒起不了床了。媽媽走到床邊發(fā)現(xiàn)她已經(jīng)死了，可是她躺著看上去很幸福。也就在這天早上，那朵玫瑰盛開(kāi)了。
