Thank you very much!非常感謝！在接下來(lái)的時(shí)間里，我將和大家一起分享一下學(xué)英語(yǔ)的苦辣酸甜。最主要的，是想通過(guò)我在北大六年教學(xué)經(jīng)歷、美國(guó)六年生活經(jīng)歷、“新東方”六年教學(xué)經(jīng)歷，來(lái)和大家交流一下怎能樣盡快的提高大家的listeing and speaking comprehensions.
我的經(jīng)歷具體是這樣的：我是1980年從內(nèi)蒙古考到北大的，比大家高了好多屆。我在北大學(xué)英文，然后又在北大教書(shū)。教書(shū)六年之后，在1990年，我求學(xué)到美國(guó)。我發(fā)現(xiàn)到了，美國(guó)一下飛機(jī)，我一句話也聽(tīng)不懂。當(dāng)時(shí)我想，至少我學(xué)了幾年英文，所以打算繼續(xù)學(xué)英文。正在我在考慮到哪里去的時(shí)候，我聽(tīng)到一種說(shuō)法，叫做everybody in American can speak English。那么我又怎么能夠在美國(guó)賺錢(qián)呢？所以，我必須改變這個(gè)想法。于是我該學(xué)了學(xué)計(jì)算機(jī)。計(jì)算機(jī)碩士畢業(yè)以后，我在美國(guó)的貝爾實(shí)驗(yàn)室做了兩年的軟件工程師。在1995年，“新東方”的創(chuàng)始人俞敏洪來(lái)到了美國(guó)，在他的建議下，我有回國(guó)，開(kāi)始參加“新東方”的創(chuàng)建。我和俞敏洪在北大是同班同學(xué)——“新東方”的五個(gè)“創(chuàng)業(yè)元老”里有三個(gè)是北大的同學(xué)。除了我們兩個(gè)還有一個(gè)是“新東方”的圖書(shū)總策劃包凡一老師，他是“新東方”的寫(xiě)作專(zhuān)家。我在大學(xué)時(shí)代是他們的班長(zhǎng)，他們兩個(gè)當(dāng)時(shí)是全班最落后的學(xué)生。我那時(shí)的主要精力和時(shí)間都花在每天晚上陪他們兩個(gè)在湖畔散步，勸
他們不要跳下去。我告訴他們說(shuō)：“你們將來(lái)一定會(huì)成才的.�！钡搅�96年，我在新東方擔(dān)任副校長(zhǎng)的時(shí)候，有一個(gè)大學(xué)生就問(wèn)我說(shuō)：“王老師，你上大學(xué)時(shí)四年都是他們的班長(zhǎng)，你現(xiàn)在卻是他們的副校長(zhǎng)，你的心理平衡怎么找？”我說(shuō)：“不用找，我現(xiàn)在心理是最平衡的。我當(dāng)初當(dāng)班長(zhǎng)最大的夙愿就是幫助這兩個(gè)后進(jìn)青年成才。今天看到他們已經(jīng)紛紛成才了，我的夙愿已經(jīng)了了。平衡徹底找到了。”——我們的確都要找到一個(gè)平衡的方法，只有心態(tài)平衡下來(lái)，你才能夠干成偉大的事業(yè)。
在美國(guó)的時(shí)候我學(xué)計(jì)算機(jī)之前，還有一段小插曲。那就是我險(xiǎn)些報(bào)考了哈佛的人力學(xué)系。我離開(kāi)北大之后，吸引我的學(xué)校只有兩所，一所是英國(guó)的牛津大學(xué)，就是Oxford University；另一所呢就是Harvard University。那時(shí)候，哈佛大學(xué)人力學(xué)系的系主任，對(duì)我進(jìn)行了面試之后覺(jué)得可以錄取我，并且提出可以給我提供五年的Scholarship。他說(shuō)：“你只要答應(yīng)我一個(gè)條件，”我說(shuō)：“什么條件？”——這個(gè)教授研究的是非常偏的一個(gè)科目，所以招生好多年都沒(méi)有找到一個(gè)合適的學(xué)生。他是在人力學(xué)系研究中國(guó)文化中苗族文化的�！f(shuō)：“只要你跟我學(xué)苗語(yǔ)，我就給你獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金�！蔽艺f(shuō)：“可以�！钡牵依潇o下來(lái)之后想：我拿了這些錢(qián)，在五年之內(nèi)，過(guò)的是天上人間的日子。就算不能從哈佛大學(xué)畢業(yè)，也能夠肄業(yè)。將來(lái)至少能夠跟孫子夸口說(shuō)，爺爺當(dāng)年進(jìn)過(guò)哈佛。但是這還不行，因?yàn)槲夷玫竭@個(gè)學(xué)位，最終的目的是要找個(gè)飯碗。我就考慮，在北美這樣大片的土地上，有多少地方需要我這樣的人才呢？——苗族文化專(zhuān)家。通過(guò)“研究”，我發(fā)現(xiàn)，全北美只有一個(gè)地方需要，就是哈佛大學(xué)、人力學(xué)系、這位老師。所以，如果全北美只有一個(gè)機(jī)會(huì)，他的目標(biāo)里只有我一個(gè)人，那么這個(gè)機(jī)會(huì)對(duì)我來(lái)說(shuō)是百分之百的！但是，五年之后，我仍然處于一個(gè)非常劣勢(shì)的地位。我如果能在哈佛大學(xué)拿到學(xué)位，接下來(lái)的夢(mèng)想就是當(dāng)上哈佛大學(xué)的教授、終身教授。美國(guó)大學(xué)關(guān)于終身教授的規(guī)定：只要這個(gè)教授不去世，你就別想替代他。我想，萬(wàn)一我六十歲就“夭折“了，那位教授八十多歲還健在，我也還是助教。想到這兒，我就對(duì)那位教授說(shuō)：“I want to learn something different�！�
當(dāng)時(shí)是1990年，計(jì)算機(jī)在美國(guó)變得popular。而且招生的指標(biāo)還有70個(gè)，我覺(jué)得這是個(gè)attract opportunity，于是決定學(xué)計(jì)算機(jī)。如果學(xué)計(jì)算機(jī)，我就可以成為一個(gè)“計(jì)算機(jī)科學(xué)家”，就可以make money。但當(dāng)時(shí)，我已經(jīng)十年沒(méi)摸過(guò)數(shù)學(xué)了，計(jì)算機(jī)也從來(lái)沒(méi)有接觸過(guò)。我想，我能不能學(xué)計(jì)算機(jī)呢？我用亞里士多德的“三段論”來(lái)推導(dǎo)這個(gè)問(wèn)題：計(jì)算機(jī)是人發(fā)明的東西，凡是人都應(yīng)該懂人發(fā)明的東西。最后，如果我學(xué)不了計(jì)算機(jī)，我就不是人。得出這個(gè)結(jié)論之后，我就要做一些實(shí)際的調(diào)查，看一看計(jì)算機(jī)到底是什么。我到了紐約最大的書(shū)店，看看計(jì)算機(jī)架上到底有些什么書(shū)。其中有兩架書(shū)，

as we know, you have to learn how to fly much more independently instead of under your parents’ considerate protection when you get into college, which also means you will come across enormous questions that should be solved by yourself. from my point of view, those main problems can fall into three parts. first of all, the complicated relationship. for one thing, you have to know how cultural differences function in your relationship and respect them. in addition, college students spend less time studying together owing to different courses’ choosing, which requires us to devote more energy to building relationship. for the other thing, it is also vital to communicate with your parents often by using mobile phones or other tools.
secondly, the temptations. the college serves us a more relaxed environment mixed with other temptations such as the internet, alcohols and so on. what’s more, the college teachers won’t compel you to study like before, you doze off or play cell phone in class, and you flee up the morning class because you get up too late.
such too frequent behaviors will cripple your passion and enthusiasm towards life, so it is essential for us to resist these temptations and insist pursuing our own goals. thirdly, the balance between study and work. most of us will choose to take a part time job to earn the extra money or just to exercise ourselves. but it is significant to keep a relatively balanced relationship between them since i always regard the study as our main task, so my principle is adjusting work to follow the schedule of study.

Grow up, like a boat in my life, driving the wave surface. Sometimes, be in calm, sometimes be in rough. But the boat I was growing up, not everything is going. For me, sour,sweet,bitter,ho t,everything .
Now, as I grow up, are becoming adults, so in the eyes of parents, I was no longer to be a kid. Sometimes, they say "you've grown up,not a children!" When I listen to this,my head will be pain.
When I was a little boy, my life is so relaxed.But now, in front of the waves are bigger, and more twists and turns the sea,I become a middle school student, that I have all gone past. I'm taller, homework more, study more subjects,have more test.When I was a boy, I am wrong no matter what happened, no one to blame me.But now,if I do something wrong,my parents will shout. The relaxe time will far away from me.I will be more busy.
Study pressure always troubling me. Grown up, more work gradually like hills. After school, I do not dare to play, to see their favorite book, I'm afraid I can't complete the work, I can only try very hard to make the pen in my book on wave, for example, I have to run on the way home. If I were a boy again, I would school myself into a habit of attention; Iwould let nothing come between me and the subject in hand. I would remember thata good skater never tries to skate in two directions at once. The habit ofattention becomes part of our life, if we begin early enough. I often heargrown-up people say “I could not fix my attention on the lecture or book,although I wished to do so” , and the reason is, the habit was not formed inyouth.
If I were to live my life over again, I would pay more attention to thecultivation of the memory. I would strengthen that faculty by every possiblemeans, and on every possible occasion. It takes a little hard work at first toremember things accurately; but memory soon helps itself, and gives very littletrouble. It only needs early cultivation to become a power.
If I were a boy again, I would look on the cheerful side. Life is very muchlike a mirror: if you smile upon it, I smile back upon you; but if you frown andlook doubtful on it, you will get a similar look in return.
Inner sunshine warms not only the heart of the owner, but of all that comein contact with it. “who shuts love out ,in turn shall be shut out fromlove.”
Finally, instead of trying hard to be happy, as if that were the solepurpose of life, I would, if I were a boy again, I would still try harder tomake others happy.

When I was 10 years old ,I became a shot-put athlete.The training was really hard ,I couldn't bear the heavy shot in my hands .But I always believe that "god only help those who help themselves".During those hard days,I find I was growing more quickly than others of the same age.To be an athlete is my most correct choice.But,I quit my team after entering high school because of a silly excuse.I really didn't want to stop my sports career anyway.
Today I say to you my friends that even though I must face the difficulties of yesterday ,today and tomorrow .I still have a dream .It is a dream deeply rooted in my soul.
I have a dream that one day ,I can run,jump and pitch just like I used to be. I have a dream that one day , I can go back to my dream sports and join the national team.

There was alaw in this kingdom -nobody could cut down trees. Once the prince was chasing arabbit and he kicked down three little trees by accident. The king knew it andhe let the guards hit the prince thirty times to punish him.
The king wasvery old. Before he dead, he told the prince his last words,” I am very old now. The forest is our last hope. You willbe the new king. You couldn’t change the law, or a lot of monsters will come! Rememberit my son!”
And shortlyafterwards, the prince became the new king. And the country became stronger andstronger. He was a good king but he still grudged that law! Oneday, a guest came to the kingdom. He showed the king
a drawing.There were houses and buildings on the picture. The king was vey excited. Andhe decided to listen to that man. He commanded to cut down all the trees. Andhe created a new world! Everyone tried to stop him, but it didn’t work. Trees werecutting down, animals were running away. Tall buildings were
built! At thebeginning, people liked the new city,but later something bad happened. All kinds of monsters showed up: rainmonster, hot monster, wind monster and sand monster. People felt sick with theenvironment, because the new citybrought a lot of pollution. People missed the forest, the animals and thelovely city they used to live in. But they were not able to change it at all.They became homeless and had to abandon their city. Watchedthe image lying before him, the king sank into the seat.
Ladies andgentlemen, from this story we can see that we have to protect our home- theearth, we have to protect the trees, the rivers, the animals and the air, orsomething terrible must happen to us!
