要學(xué)好寫(xiě)英語(yǔ)短文，就必須經(jīng)常練習(xí)寫(xiě)作。記日記是提高書(shū)面表達(dá)能力的有效方法之一。日記是每日生活的記載，是一種記事文體。
一、日記的格式
英文日記通常由書(shū)端和正文兩個(gè)部分組成。日記常以第一人稱(chēng)記下當(dāng)天生活中的所見(jiàn)、所聞、所做或所想的事情。中、英文的日記三格式大致一樣。英語(yǔ)日記的書(shū)端是專(zhuān)門(mén)寫(xiě)日記的日期、星期和天氣的。左上角是日期(年、月、日)、星期。右上角寫(xiě)上當(dāng)天的天氣情況，如：Sunny, Fine, Rainy, Windy, Snowy, Cloudy等。
1、日期表達(dá)有多種形式。年、月、日都寫(xiě)時(shí)，通常以月、日、年為順序，月份可以縮寫(xiě)，日和年用逗號(hào)隔開(kāi)。例如： December 18, 2003 或者 Dec. 18, 2003
A) September 1, 2004或September 1st, 2004也可省略寫(xiě)成Sept. 1, 2004或Sept. 1st, 2004;B)the 1st of September in 2004(月份不可以縮寫(xiě))
B)只有月、日
September 1或September 1st(月份可以縮寫(xiě))
C)只有年、月
September 2004或the September of 2004(月份不可以縮寫(xiě))
以上的1或1st都應(yīng)讀作the first。
2.星期也可以省略不寫(xiě)，可將其放在日期前或后，星期和日期之間不用標(biāo)點(diǎn)，但要空一格，星期也可縮寫(xiě)。

3.天氣情況必不可少。天氣一般用一個(gè)形容詞如 :Sunny, Fine, Rainy, Snowy 等表示。寫(xiě)在日期之后，用逗號(hào)隔開(kāi)，位于日記的右上角。如：
Saturday, March 4, 2004, Windy;1st January, 2004, Fine
二、日記的要求
日記的正文是日記的主要部分，寫(xiě)在星期和日期的正下方，可以頂格寫(xiě)，也可以?xún)?nèi)縮3至5個(gè)字母的空間。由于記載的內(nèi)容通常已經(jīng)發(fā)生，謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞多用一般過(guò)去時(shí)。但也可根據(jù)具體情況，用其它時(shí)態(tài)。如：記敘天氣、描寫(xiě)景色，為了描寫(xiě)生動(dòng)，可以使用現(xiàn)在時(shí)，以表現(xiàn)當(dāng)時(shí)的情景。再如文后發(fā)表感想或評(píng)論可用現(xiàn)在時(shí)態(tài)或?qū)?lái)時(shí)態(tài)。記日記力求簡(jiǎn)單明了，有連貫性。若有文字提示，則應(yīng)重視提示，把握要點(diǎn)。在句式上盡量使用簡(jiǎn)單句，以防繁雜，造成語(yǔ)法、句型錯(cuò)誤。
三、日記的類(lèi)型和訓(xùn)練
日記分為記事型、議論型、描寫(xiě)型和抒情型。建議大家在學(xué)習(xí)寫(xiě)日記的過(guò)程中，可按以下步驟進(jìn)行：
�、賹⒁惶焖�(jīng)歷的主要事情和過(guò)程依次簡(jiǎn)要地記下來(lái)，不附加任何感情色彩，這是最簡(jiǎn)單的記日記的方法;

英語(yǔ)日記最重要的就是要正確書(shū)寫(xiě)日記的格式，尤其是在考試中，日記的格式相當(dāng)重要。英語(yǔ)日記的格式與漢語(yǔ)日記的格式大致相同，在每篇日記的第一行寫(xiě)上日期、星期和天氣，接下來(lái)寫(xiě)內(nèi)容。日期、星期和天氣的書(shū)寫(xiě)要注意以下幾個(gè)方面：
