淺析英語禁忌語及其發(fā)展

A Tentative Study of English Taboo Words and Their Development
Abstract
Taboo words are not only a linguistic phenomenon but also a social phenomenon. Like other parts of language, on one hand they can reflect the social norms and values of a particular culture; on the other hand they are largely constrained too. They are not only universal but also culture-specific and context-dependent. Therefore the study of taboo words must take into consideration the specific context and especially the influence of such contextual factors as participants, setting and activity.
This thesis intends to study the definition, categories, sources and development of English taboo words, suggests putting the study in specific contexts. The goal of the paper is to reducing miscommunications and conflicts in intercultural communication, to improving learners awareness of intercultural communication and to developing students intercultural communicative competence.

摘 要
禁忌語是1種語言現(xiàn)象，更是1種社會現(xiàn)象。與語言的其他部分1樣,1方面禁忌語是社會準(zhǔn)則和特定文化域價值觀的折射,另1方面又受其限制。他們具有普遍性,也有文化特定性和語境獨(dú)立性。因此,對其研究必須考慮具體的語境,特別是參與者,場合和活動等語境因素的影響。
本文將簡要的討論禁忌語的定義、分類、產(chǎn)生和發(fā)展, 提出將禁忌語放到具體的文化和交際語境中進(jìn)行研究。其實(shí)踐意義在于減少跨文化交際失誤，避免人際沖突，有助于增強(qiáng)外語學(xué)習(xí)者的跨文化交際意識，提高外語學(xué)習(xí)者的跨文化交際能力。
